MRSA

Based on “YMCA” written by Jacques Morali, Henri Belolo, and Victor Willis

Listen we’d like you all to hear about something that is found around here
It can hurt you but there’s no need to fear because we will educate you
So now the inservice begins and soon you’ll know all the outs and the ins
About this bug and the problems it brings so let’s get right to the topic

We’re here to talk about MRSA we’re here to learn about MRSA
It’s a bacteria found here at MMC that you have to treat carefully
We’re here to learn about MRSA want to know all about MRSA
Methicillin won’t work so we have to beware when delivering patient care

The first thing that you need to know is that it can easily spread and grow
Until it is running out of control and we cannot let that happen
People at the greatest of risk are those people that have burned lots of skin
Or have had lots of antibiotics also age tubes or surgery

Can lead to catching of MRSA you must be aware of MRSA
Elevated white count or drainage from a wound are two symptoms that maybe you
Should think of testing for MRSA chills or fever could mean MRSA
It can be in the blood in the sputum or pee so you’d better take care you see

The way that it’s most often spread is by people going from bed to bed
Without washing or wearing protection and that is intolerable
So the thing that you all must do is wash your hands when procedures are through
And wear a gown if the patient might spew masking also is important

To stop the spreading of MRSA we must be heading off MRSA
Our department must show that we’re on the forefront of nipping this thing in the bud
We’ve got to terminate MRSA we can not germinate MRSA
We must act as a team and be willing to shout that we’re going to wipe this out

MRSA we use Vanco to treat MRSA
But we must take great care that we don’t help to make
A strain Vanco can’t overtake
MRSA we hope you’ve learned about MRSA
